Link to higher res version of that last photo
As requested. Not sure exactly how Posterous treats links to photos, but we'll see!

WordPress for the iPhone
Just thought I'd try out WordPress on the iPhone. It's really rather neat (I'm using it to write this post).
Tempting enough to make me rethink my plan to ditch my iPhone (and BlackBerry Bold) when I finally manage to get hold of an HTC Hero?
Maybe... Watch this space!

Tilt-shift photography
There are many aspects to tilt-shift photography, the most commonly known probably being the creation of photographs of real-life objects or scenes that look like miniature models.
The term "tilt-shift" refers to the capabilities of special camera lenses to tilt and shift the focal plane. It's the tilting of the focal plane that creates the miniature effect.
I've been experimenting with tilt-shift lenses for a few months now, and can honestly say that the effect is very difficult to pull off convincingly. At least for an amateur such as myself.
Here's probably one of my better attempts (click on the image to see a larger version):
(This was taken from The Address Hotel, which is situated in Downtown Burj Dubai, on the lake where the Dubai Fountain is.)

Dubai Fountain video number 1
Do search on Google for Dubai Fountain, and the number one hit is a video I posted onto YouTube back in April 2009 which has had just over 47,500 views.
At this time, the fountain hadn't officially been opened - and as far as I'm aware, this was the first ever video posted on the internet of a full fountain show. If you look carefully, you'll notice that not all the water jets and lights are working. Nonetheless, I think it's a very impressive show.
I'll be linking to more of my Dubai Fountain videos over the coming days.
Nothing beats being there of course, but hopefully this is the next best thing!

(hit the HD button to view in better quality - it makes a big difference)
The artist is Hussain Al Jassmi, and the track is entitled "Bassbor Al Fourgkom".
